How to Set Up the Checkr Integration
To get started, you will need an active Checkr account. If you don't have one, you can create one during the setup process.
- Navigate to Integrations: Go to Onboarding > Onboarding Integrations > Background Checks.
- Connect to Checkr: Find the Checkr integration and click "Connect." A new window will appear, prompting you to either sign in to an existing Checkr account or create a new one.
Complete the Connection: Follow the on-screen instructions to sign in or sign up. Once connected, your Checkr account will be linked to our platform, and you can begin ordering background checks.
Note: You must have Admin access in your Checkr account to set up this connection.
Ordering a Background Check
Once the integration is active, you can order a background check for any candidate.
Go to the Candidate's Profile: From your candidate pipeline, select the candidate you wish to screen.
Initiate the Background Check: On their profile , you will see a new "Start Background Check" button. Click it to begin.
Select a Package: Choose the appropriate background check package for the role. Checkr offers various packages, which can include:
- Criminal History Checks (national, state, and county)
- Social Security Number (SSN) Trace
- Driving Records (MVR)
- Employment and Education Verifications
- Confirm and Order: Review the details and click "Request Background Check." The candidate will receive an email from Checkr with instructions to provide their information and consent.
Viewing and Understanding Results
You can monitor the status of a background check directly from the candidate's profile in our system.
- Status Updates: The status will change from "Pending" to "In Progress" as the candidate completes their part, and finally to "Completed" or "Needs Attention."
- Accessing the Report: Once completed, you can click "View Report" to see the full details directly within our platform. Checkr's reports are color-coded to quickly highlight any areas that may require your attention, helping you make a faster and more informed hiring decision.
