Jobs in Team Engine: Quick Guide

Team Engine makes it easy to create, manage, and organize your job listings — whether you’re hiring for multiple locations, managing multiple roles, or keeping internal postings private. Below are some of the most common features, FAQs, and best practices to help you get the most out of your jobs in Team Engine.

🚀 Creating & Managing Jobs

How to Create a New Job

You can add as many jobs as needed in Team Engine. To get started, follow our step-by-step guide here:

Internal Job Identifiers

We recently introduced Internal Job Identifiers to help you distinguish between similar job titles (for example, “Concrete General Laborer – Night Shift” vs. “Concrete General Laborer – Day Shift”).

  • These identifiers are only visible to your internal team — not applicants or job boards.
  • They appear in your job list, dropdown menus, and applicant cards.
  • You can also search or filter by the internal identifier, just like with job titles.

🔔 Job Notifications

Notifications in Team Engine help you stay informed about new applicants, messages, and hiring updates — so you never miss a step in your process.

  • The assigned Hiring Manager receives all notifications by default.
  • If multiple team members are helping on the same job, anyone can update their own notification settings by clicking the bell icon next to the job.

💼 Common Job Questions

Q: Does Team Engine offer confidential or anonymous job listings?

🕵️‍♀️ Not at this time. All jobs are automatically associated with your company’s name and contact information.

Q: Can I post internally without advertising publicly?

✅ Yes! Simply mark the job as “Hiring, Not Advertising.”

This keeps the job visible only within Team Engine — not on your careers page or external job boards. You can still collect and manage applicants internally.

Q: How can I share a non-advertised job?

You have several options for sharing privately:

  • 📱 Text-to-Apply: Anyone can text “APPLY” to your dedicated applicant number.
  • 📷 QR Codes: Print and post QR codes that link directly to your job application page.
  • 🔗 Custom Links: Share a unique link via email, internal message, or other channels.

🌐 Job Distribution & Visibility

Q: What job platforms does Team Engine post to?

Your active jobs automatically post to:

  • Indeed
  • ZipRecruiter
  • Google Jobs
  • Plus, additional networks like Jooble and JobisJob.

Q: Can I post a remote job?

💻 Absolutely! You can either:

  • Create one listing and note eligible states or regions in the description.
  • Or, create separate listings for each state to improve visibility (since many job seekers filter by location).

Q: Can I assign multiple hiring managers to one job?

👤 Each job can only have one assigned hiring manager, but you can send email notifications to multiple users so everyone stays informed.

Q: Can I add multiple locations to one job posting?

Each job should have a specific location. This helps job boards correctly target applicants based on geography.

🧱 Job Management Tips

Q: How can I edit a job?

Click the ✏️ pencil icon next to the job and make your updates.

Note: It may take 6–12 hours for edits to appear on job boards and your careers page.

Q: How do I change the status of a job?

Simply click the current status (e.g., “Actively Advertising”) and select a new one from the dropdown.

Q: I can’t see all my job postings.

Try the following:

  1. Clear any existing filters.
  2. Set “Job Location” to Any Job Location.
  3. Under “Job Status,” select Advertising and Hiring.
  4. For “Filter by Manager,” choose Any Hiring Manager.

Q: Can I bulk upload applicants?

🚫 Not at this time — applicants need to be added individually.

🧭 Job Board Behavior & Performance

Q: Why aren’t my applicants showing in Team Engine, but I see them on Indeed?

This may happen if you have a duplicate or separate listing directly on Indeed. Indeed could be flagging your Team Engine version as a duplicate.

If you want applicants to appear in Team Engine, make sure they’re applying through your Team Engine job post.

Q: Why is my job showing an error or red warning?

A red sign usually means the job currently has zero or low views on Indeed. Try adjusting your title or description to improve visibility. If you need help, please reach out to our support through chat or send an email to: support@teamengine.io

📍 Job Location & Radius

Q: How far does a job listing reach?

Job boards typically display jobs within a 25–50 mile radius of the listed location.

If you post the same job title in nearby towns, they might overlap and reach the same applicants.

Recommended spacing:

  • Urban areas: at least 25 miles apart
  • Suburban/rural areas: at least 15 miles apart

These distances help avoid duplicate flags on job boards. You can still post jobs closer together — just slightly vary the job titles (e.g., add location or shift type).

Pro Tip: Consistent job titles, clear descriptions, and accurate locations will help you get the best applicant visibility across all platforms!
