How to Add Team Engine to BambooHR for Automated Reports


Team Engine will securely receive automated reports directly from your BambooHR account.

This is a read-only, reporting-only setup and requires no ongoing manual exports once configured.


What You’ll Need

  • Admin access in BambooHR
  • 5–10 minutes to complete setup
  • The Team Engine reporting email:

    hr.reports@teamengine.io


Step 1: Add Team Engine as an Employee (Creates the User Account)

In BambooHR, user access is created by adding an employee record and assigning an access level.

  1. Log into BambooHR
  2. Go to Settings → Employees (or Add Employee)

    Add a new employee with the following details:

    • Name: Team Engine Reports
    • Email: hr.reports@teamengine.io
  3. Assign a read-only access level with permission to view Reports
  4. Send the user invitation and complete the account setup

Once the invitation is accepted, the login prompt will be removed and Team Engine will be able to access reports automatically.

Note: The email domain does not need to match your company’s domain.


Step 2: Set Permissions (Important)

Assign limited, read-only access to keep things secure.

Recommended permissions:

  • ✅ Access to Reports
  • ✅ View-only access to required employee fields
  • ❌ No editing, payroll, or admin permissions

This ensures Team Engine can receive data only, not make changes.


Step 3: Create Automated Reports

  1. Go to Reports in BambooHR
  2. Create or select the report(s) you want to automate

    (Employee data, status changes, custom fields, etc.)

  3. Click Automate / Schedule
  4. Set delivery frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly)
  5. Select Team Engine Reports as the recipient
